Workshop Overview:
In this comprehensive 6-week course, students will introduced to Photoshop and
learn how to use Photoshop, Bridge and Camera RAW with an emphasis on
photography and print design.
Course Outline:

Workspace: tools, menus, panels, navigation and viewing options;

Adobe Bridge: organize, compare, rank and filter your images;
•
Camera Raw: The full Camera Raw Tool set;
•
Terminology: file size, resolution, bit depth and colour spaces;
•
Selections: overview of selection tools and modifying selections;
•
Adjustment Layers and Masks: adjust your images non-destructively;
•
Smart Objects: change the way you approach working in Photoshop;
•
Editing and Retouching: crop straighten, clone, heal and red eye, skin
retouching
•
Adjustments: applying filters, basic tonal and colour adjustments
•
Blending Modes in the Layers Panel
•
Editing: Auto-Align, Auto-Blend and Content-Aware Fill
•
Dodging and Burning
•
Retouching: using layers, Clone Source, Healing and Patch Tools
•
Using Liquify
•
Combining Photos: Swapping Facial Features in Group Shots
•
Retouching images using Frequency Separation
•
Masking Out Hair
•
Matching Skin Tones using Curves
•
Using Displacement Maps, Creating Tattoos that follow skin contours
•
Changing the Colours of Objects
•
Using Channels: Refine Edge/Mask, saving and loading selections
•
Adding Type: options for type layers, getting smooth type at output, using
Type as a Clipping Mask, Placing Type on Vector Paths;
•
Using Layer Comps
•
Vector Tools: working with the Pen Tool, paths and shape layers
•
Output: printing options and saving your images for the web
