Introduction: If you're serious about your photography, you'll begin to understand at some point that doing some post production of your digital images is the next logical stop in getting the most of out your photography. If you are shooting RAW, and I hope you are, it's vital step. In my Beginners' workshop, students learn how to use their cameras and then are introduced to the idea that they need to stop just taking pictures and begin making great photographs. Post production with Adobe Lightroom takes the photographer to the next level in achieving that goal. Workshop Overview: The 6-week workshop runs for 2 hours each week. Expect to learn to download, organize, manage, develop, and present digital photography using Adobe Lightroom. Gain a new perspective and straight forward grasp of the application, as well as time-saving tips, so you can spend less time in front of a computer and more time behind the camera. Topics Covered: backing up your files importing and organizing your images creating image collections keywording your images adjusting White Balance recovering over exposure adding detail to darker areas correcting flaws and blemishes advanced sharpening and Noise Reduction Vignettes and Grain creating dynamic Black & White images refining your workflow correcting local areas using Lightroom's brushes non-destructive cropping relative adjustments to groups of images renaming groups of images capturing photos from a tethered camera using and creating new Presets using watermarks refining your compositional skills exporting your images to the real world mapping images getting ready to print: soft proofing printing contact sheets and picture packages creating photo books creating PDF or video slideshows creating web galleries uploading image folders directing to Facebook or Flickr
Requirements: Students must have either a laptop with Lightroom 5 installed to bring to the class or have it installed on their computers at home. A fully functioning trial version of Lightroom can be downloaded from the Internet.
